Reports released for the week of October 10th through October 16th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 21 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 2 hazardous material calls, 2 fire calls, and one false alarm.

Monday, October 11
*4:01pm – BFD was called to the 1400 block of Houston Street. Incident determined to be a faulty air conditioner. Compressor was leaking oil producing smoke. The breaker was turned off and a technician was contacted.
*5:19pm – BFD was called to the 1500 block of Avenue D regarding a hazardous material spill. A large amount of hydraulic fluid in the roadway was causing vehicles to slide. Firefighters used micro blaze on the spill.
*10:07pm – BFD was called to the 500 block of Commerce for a 2 vehicle accident. They provided first aid and checked for injuries.
Tuesday, October 12
*10:16am – BFD responded to the corner of 12th Street and Brady Avenue regarding a gas leak. Atmos was contacted to check the meter.
*6:14pm – BFD responded to the Walmart parking lot for a vehicle on fire. The incident was determined to be a fire of a passenger car. Front bumper line was pulled and the engine fire was extinguished.
Thursday, October 14
*5:49pm – BFD responded to the 2300 block of Belmeade regarding a building fire. Upon entering the building, a couch and comforter were found to be burning/smoldering. The fire was extinguished and the structure was vented with a vent fan.
*7:32pm – BFD responded to the 100 block of E. Commerce regarding a 2 vehicle accident. Firefighters assisted with the extraction of a patient from the driver’s seat of one of the vehicles. Patient was transported to BRMC by Guardian EMS.
