Reports released for the week of August 29th through September 4th, 2010 from Brownwood Fire Department indicate response to 24 medical emergencies, 4 motor vehicle accidents, , 1 false alarm, 1 alarm activation, 4 fire calls (2 electrical problems & 2 vehicle fires) & 2 calls to assist.

Monday, August 30
*8:32pm-False Alarm. BFD responded to a report of house fire; however, upon arrival nothing was found but someone was cooking in a BBQ pit in the backyard.
Tuesday, August 31
*11:57am-BFD was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident 200 block E. Commerce involving 2 vehicles and 1 subject transported by Guardian EMS to Brownwood Regional Medical Center ER.
*1:55pm- BFD was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident intersection of Melwood and Anderson involving 2 vehicles and injuries. Firefighters had to use extrication tools to remove driver door to remove patient from vehicle. Patient was taken by Guardian EMS to Brownwood Regional Medical Center ER.
Wednesday, September 1
*5:31am- BFD was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident FM 45 involving a two vehicle roll over. Firefighters began extrication of patient trapped in car. Both doors and roof had to be removed to disentangle patient from car. Patient was then loaded in Air Evac and transported to Hendricks Hospital. Patient in unit 2 was transported to BRMC with serious injuries.
*10:01am-BFD was called to a vehicle fire in 600 block of Baily. Booster line was deployed and engine fire was quickly extinguished.
*4:39pm-BFD responded to an alarm system activation in the 200 block of W. Commerce. Firefighters arrived on scene to find alarm system activation during annual inspection.
Thursday, September 2
*5:22am-BFD was called to the 1200 block of Beaver for a possible electrical short in a residence. After investigating, Oncor was notified and no hazard was found.
*7:10pm-BFD was called for an agency assist and had to make forcible entry into a residence where a mother was locked out of the house by a two-year-old.
Friday, September 3
*7:48am-BFD was dispatched to the 1300 block of Austin, where there was a smell of smoke and smoke coming from a local business. At arrival there was nothing showing and after further investigation it was determined to be an electrical problem. An electrician was notified.
Saturday, September 4
*1:39pm-BFD was dispatched on a community relations call to assist an elderly female from the 2nd floor to the lobby due to an elevator being out of service.
*1:52pm- BFD was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of CR 266/CR 270 involving one vehicle. One patient was transported by Guardian EMS.
