Wednesday, August 28
*8:39 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 800 block of FM 3254. The incident was determined to be a smoke detector activation due to malfunction.
Thursday, August 29
*8:22 PM – BFD responded to a fire call in the 2600 block of 1st Street. Firefighters were dispatched to large amount of smoke behind a residence. The incident was determined to be the owner of the residence cooking on a barbeque pit.
Friday, August 30
*2:46 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1700 block of Avenue A, where they arrived on scene to find a roll out trash can was on fire. A firefighter extinguished the fire.
*2:52 AM – BFD was called to a fire in the 6500 block of CR 180. Firefighters arrived on scene with Bangs VFD to assist with extinguishing a structure fire.*4:23 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1800 block of Avenue E. Fire crews arrived on scene to find the occupants had extinguished a small mattress which had been on fire in the bedroom. Firefighters checked for any extension and removed the mattress from the home. The PPV fan was used to remove smoke from residence.
Saturday, August 31
*5:28 AM – BFD responded to a bomb threat. Fire Crews staged; however, the incident was determined to be a false call.
*8:02 AM – BFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 200 block of Commerce.
*9:54 AM – BFD responded to a hazardous materials call in the 100 block of Miller. Natural gas was leaking from a dryer unit. The gas was shut off and Atmos was notified.
