Reports released for the week of August 22nd through August 28th, 2010 from Brownwood Fire Department indicate response to 31 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 1 false alarm, 1 faulty alarm, 3 fire calls, 1 electrical problem and 4 hazardous material calls.

Sunday, August 22
*At 3:30pm BFD responded to a fire on CR 225, Jordan Springs Cemetery, approximately 30 acre wild land fire.
Monday, August 23
*At 8:49am BFD responded to San Benito Dr. regarding a gas meter that was broken and leaking gas. The leak was controlled, contained and Atmos was notified.
*BFD responded to a report of the smell of smoke in the 2000 block of S. Hwy 377. All units responded and upon investigating, nothing was found.
Tuesday, August 24
*At 6:55am BFD responded to a 2 car motor vehicle accident with minor injuries in the 4300 block of S. Hwy 377. First aid was provided.
*At 12:46pm BFD responded to a grass fire in the 6600 block of CR 190 in bangs. Approximately 25 acres burned. Multiple volunteer fire departments assisted in extinguishment of the fire. Cause of the fire has not been determined.
Thursday, August 26
*At 4:45pm BFD responded to a gas leak at 16th Street and Avenue M. Upon arrival at the scene, a gas meter was found to be broken off at the ground. Firefighters plugged the line and notified Atmos.
*At 9:46pm BFD responded to a structure fire in the 2100 block of Calvert. Upon arrival on scene, a large amount of smoke was present but no flames showing. A kitchen fire had been extinguished by the resident. Firefighters set up a vent fan to remove smoke and began overhaul. No fire extension was found. All units cleared the scene at 11:00pm.
Friday, August 27
*At 2:09am, BFD was called to a flammable liquid spill in the 400 block of Main Street. When they arrived, a 2 vehicle MVA was found. Vitals were taken for the driver of the vehicle. Fuel and oil spill on the ground was controlled and confined.
*At 4:04pm BFD assisted Police Department with removal of handcuffs.
*At 5:45pm BFD responded to an alarm activation at Bank of America. No fire was found.
