BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 8/17
Reports released for the week of August 8th through August 14th, 2010 from Brownwood Fire Department indicate response to 15 medical emergencies, 5 motor vehicle accidents, 2 false alarms and 4 fire calls.

Sunday, August 9th
*At 2:34pm, BFD responded to an Electrical wiring/equipment problem in the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin.
*9:25pm, BFD responded to a false alarm at Bank of America (see photo below).
Friday, August 13
4:39pm – Wildland Fire CR 193, 2 acre fire that was put out quickly.
Saturday, August 14
10:37am – Outside Rubbish Fire FM 3254
12:56pm – Grass Fire of 20+ acres on CR 234 which originated in the railway right of way. BFD reports that “It was a hard fire to fight due to erratic wind conditions and a very tough terrain. The initial call came in at 12:56 and units were released at 7:19pm.” For more details of this fire, click here.
