Sunday, June 30

*10:32 AM – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 100 block of Market Place.  According to the report, a chlorine tablet had been placed in a urinal and was causing a strong odor.  The hazard was removed and the bathroom was ventilated.

*2:37 PM – BFD was called to a grass fire on US Hwy 377S.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find that the fire was out.  The fire was located next to a firework stand, so firefighters soaked the area and confirmed all of the fire was extinguished.

*3:18 PM – BFD responded to a grass fire in the 2900 Block of Hwy 279N.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small grass fire which they extinguished.

*7:05 PM – BFD was dispatched to a 3-vehicle accident at the intersection of 15th Street & US Hwy 377S.  Firefighters assisted Guardian EMS with the loading of patients.

*8:00 PM – BFD was called to a grass fire at FM 2125 and Temple.  Firefighters arrived to find a small grass fire which they knocked down and then began mop up.

Monday, July 1

*10:19 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 700 block of Oak Street.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find the fire had been put out by a resident.  The residents were advised of city burn ordinances.

Tuesday, July 2

*3:07 PM – BFD was dispatched to a grass fire in the area of County Roads 134 and 135.  Firefighters arrived on scene to assist Bangs Volunteer Fire Department with a fast moving grassfire.  The fire was extinguished and mopped up began.

Wednesday, July 3

*9:15 AM – BFD responded to a 2-vehicle accident at the intersection of Carnegie and Main Streets.  There were no injuries reported.

*3:18 PM – BFD was called to a grass fire in the 600 block of Norwood Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small grass fire threatening structures.  Firefighters began extinguishment.  The fire was controlled and extinguished then mop up was completed.

Thursday, July 4

*8:59 AM – BFD responded to a single vehicle rollover in the 2000 block of West Hwy 67.  No injuries were reported.

*9:40 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 400 block of 4th Street.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find the fire had been put out. Firefighters wet the area down.

Saturday, July 6

*8:18 AM – BFD was dispatched to the 2400 block of Good Shepherd regarding the smell of wires burning.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find nothing showing.  Firefighters checked the attic with a thermal camera but did not locate anything.

*5:37 PM – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 700 block of Avenue J.  Fire crews were dispatched regarding a strong smell of natural gas.  Firefighters searched the home with detector; however, nothing was found.
