Sunday July 1
7:47pm – BFD performed smoke removal in the 1000 block of W Commerce. They responded to a smell of smoke. After investigating, nothing was found.
Monday, July 2
1:34pm – BFD responded to a fire call in the 2400 block of Greenway to investigate smell of smoke in a home. Fire Crews used thermal camera but were unable to detect anything hot or overheated. Attic was also checked and cleared. Smoke detectors were present and operating properly.
Wednesday July 4
4:37pm – BFD responded to a vehicle fire in the 2100 block of Main Blvd. Crews arrived on scene to find vehicle fully involved. Firefighters extinguished fire. Vehicle fire caused minor damage to house and electrical/phone lines going to the home.
9:54pm – BFD responded to a fire call on County Road 234. On arrival, no flames were showing and was informed that no assistance was needed.
Thursday July 5
12:01am – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Melwood/Gill Street involving a single vehicle vs. utility pole. Fire Crews checked for injuries.
9:25am – BFD Fire & Rescue responded to 516 E Commerce regarding an animal rescue. Arrived on scene to find a high angle rescue was required for 2 dogs at the bottom of the spillway on the Pecan Bayou. Firefighters used rope equipment for rescue. Firefighter repelled to bottom of spillway and lifted dog using a soft lifting sack. Dog was turned over to animal control officer. The 2nd dog was not able to be caught.
Saturday July 7
2:04pm – BFD responded to a gas leak in the 2100 block of Ave B. Firefighters plugged line and notified Atmos.
