Reports released for the week of May 1st through May 7th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 28 medical emergencies, 3 motor vehicle accidents, 3 fire calls, and 3 false alarms.

Sunday, May 1
*1:21am – BFD responded to a two vehicle accident in the 1500 block of Early Blvd. Fire Fighters extricated the occupant from the vehicle. Guardian EMS transported occupants to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Wednesday, May 4
* 7:46am – BFD was called to a fire in the 2000 block of Austin Avenue. Fire crews were dispatched to investigate the smell of smoke which was determined to be smoke from a mal functioning crock pot.
*6:23pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pick-up truck and a motorcycle in the area of 15th & Brady. Fire Firefighters provided first aid and loaded the patient into ambulance for transportation to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
*8:55pm – BFD responded to a three vehicle accident in the 901 CC Woodson Road. Fire Fighters assisted with loading of patient into Guardian EMS ambulance. Fire Fighters rode with Guardian to Brownwood Regional Medical Center to assist with patient care.
Friday, May 6
*10:19am – BFD was called to a fire on US Hwy 67. After investigation fire was determined to be a controlled burn.
*1:08pm – BFD responded to a community relations call in the area of Avenue K and Vine Street to check on small car fire.
*8:35pm – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 2000 block of Southside Drive. The accident involved a vehicle striking a gas meter. Fire Fighters shut off the gas meter and notified Atmos.
Saturday, May 7
*5:23am – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of 11th Street and Coggin Avenue involving a vehicle striking a utility pole and breaking it in half. The utility department was contacted. Fire fighters checked for injuries and cleaned up debris.
