BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of May 8th through May 15th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 26 medical emergencies, 5 motor vehicle accidents, 5 fire calls, 3 rescue/motorist assists and 3 false alarms.

Sunday, May 8

*4:47am – BFD responded to a fire call in the 1300 block of Early Blvd. Fire fighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the house and made entry through front door. The fire was knocked down by fire crews.

*5:44pm – BFD was dispatched to a rescue call at 2500 Songbird Circle. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a man that rode his Hoveround vehicle into the ditch.  Fire fighters loaded patient with guardian and removed cart from ditch.

*8:25pm – BFD was call to a fire in the 1600 block of 11th Street. The fire was determined to be a transformer arcing and Oncor was notified.

Monday, May 9

*8:12pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 400 block of W. Commerce Street which involved a single motorcycle. The driver was loaded into Guardian EMS ambulance and transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Tuesday, May 10

*2:58pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 17000 block of N US 183 which involved a single vehicle roll over.  Fire fighters extricated the passenger from vehicle and loaded the patient into Air Evac unit. The other occupant was transported to BRMC.

Wednesday, May 11

*1:03pm – BFD was dispatched to a motorist assist near the intersection of Brady Avenue and Rogan Street.  A vehicle was stranded in high water.  The driver was rescued from her vehicle by fire fighters.

*1:08pm – BFD was called to a motorist assist at 401 W. Commerce Street. A vehicle was stranded in high water.

*1:26pm – BFD responded to a gas leak in the 300 block of N Fisk Avenue. Nothing was found.

Thursday, May 12

*12:42am – BFD was called to a vehicle fire in the 2500 block of Vine Street. Fire fighters arrived on scene to find a vehicle on fire in back yard of residence.  The Fire Marshal was notified.

Friday, May 13

*9:39am – BFD responded to a 2 vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of 3rd Street and Avenue E.

*1:05pm – BFD was dispatched to a dumpster fire in the 1400 block of Austin Avenue. The fire was extinguished by fire crews.

Saturday, May 14

*11:01pm – BFD was  called to a fire which was a false alarm.  They arrived on scene to find occupants of the residence cooking on a grill.

Sunday, May 15

*1:23pm – BFD responded to an accident involving a single motorcyclist in the 1000 block of Coggin Avenue.  The driver was loaded into Guardian EMS ambulance and transported to BRMC.

*5:26pm – BFD was called to a motor vehicle accident on FM 2125.

*5:37pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 1000 block of Santa Clara.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find the occupant burning leaves in their yard. The occupant was advised of city fire codes and extinguished fire.
