Reports released for the week of March 27th through April 2nd from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 17 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 2 fire call, 1 gas leak, 4 false alarms and 1 good intent call.

Tuesday, March 29
*10:50am – BFD was called to Sharp Street where firefighters responded to a power pole on fire. Oncor killed the power and fire crews extinguished the fire.
*1:46pm – BFD responded to a two vehicle accident with no injuries on Danhill Drive.
*3:26pm – BFD was dispatched to a two vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of FM 1849 & Hwy 67 involving 2 vehicles. Firefighters assisted loading patients into the ambulance.
Friday, April 1
*4:00pm – BFD was dispatched on a good intent call. A device which was thought to be a land mind was located. The National Guard was contacted and device was determined to be a trainer. Device was removed by Guard personnel.
Saturday, April 2
*3:44pm – BFD was called to a gas Leak in the 1600 block of Borden Street. Fire Fighters plugged the leak and notified Atmos.
*5:46pm – BFD responded to a brush fire at 5601 FM 45, the Camp Bowie National Guard Armory. Editor’s note: This was the beginning of the 4 day fire, which resulted in approximately 5000 acres being burnt according to Texas Forest Service.
