Reports released for the week of April 22-28, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 31 medical emergencies, 4 motor vehicle accidents, 2 fire calls, 1 false alarm, 1 lock-in and 2 hazardous materials calls.

Monday, April 23
*10:43am – BFD was called to an alarm activation in the 2300 block of Belmeade. Investigation found there was no fire. *1:01pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 1000 block of FM 2525. Firefighters arrived on scene with Early VFD to find a small grass fire which was extinguished by fire crews.
*4:56pm – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 4th Street & Avenue I which resulted in heavy damage to both vehicles. Firefighters checked for injuries.
Tuesday, April 24
*6:30pm – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 800 block of Center Avenue for small fire on the curb. After investigation, nothing was found.
Wednesday, April 25
*3:47pm – BFD responded to 401 W Commerce regarding a baby locked in a vehicle. The baby was rescued from the car and removed from harm.
*4:45pm –BFD was called to a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Main and Commerce. Fire crews checked for injuries and provided first aid.
*5:32pm – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident at Austin and Avenue K. Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.
*9:03pm – BFD was called to the smell of gas in an apartment in the 1100 block of Magnolia. Firefighters investigated possible carbon monoxide.
Thursday, April 26
*9:10pm – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 900 block of Austin Avenue. The occupant was extricated from vehicle and transported by Guardian EMS ambulance to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Friday, April 27
*12:32pm – BFD was dispatched to the area of Austin Avenue and Duke Street. Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.
*2:40pm – BFD responded to a hazardous materials call in the 1100 block of Magnolia regarding a strong smell of gas in an apartment. All rooms were checked by firefighters and nothing was found.
