Reports released for the week of March 25-31, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 29 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 2 fire calls, and 2 hazardous material calls.
Sunday, March 25
*4:03am – BFD responded a smoke scare in the 1600 block of Good Shepherd. A smoke alarm was activated and crews made entry through bedroom window. A pot had been left on the stove and had filled the apartment with smoke. PPV fan was used to clear smoke from apartment.
Tuesday, March 27
*1:36pm – BFD was called to on a hazardous material call in the 2100 block of 14th St. A gas meter was struck at the location.
Thursday, March 29
*4:57pm – BFD was called to a motor vehicle accident at the corner of 11th St / Ave D. A vehicle struck a tree. The fire department assisted Guardian with loading of patient.
Friday, March 30
*7:56am – BFD was dispatched to a fire call to the 2800 block of Ave D. They found a house full of smoke because of a faulty A/C motor which was disconnected.
Saturday, March 31
*8:14pm – BFD was called to a motor vehicle accident at 1412 Belle Plain St. where a vehicle struck building. Patient loaded into Guardian.
*11:27pm – BFD was called to 2300 Dickman Dr. for a fire. The fire was found to be trash and wood pallets burning outside. Fire was extinguished. Entry was made inside building were a small fire was found. Inside fire was extinguished fire crews began overhaul.
