Reports released for the week of April 3rd through April 9th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 25 medical emergencies, 5 motor vehicle accidents, 4 fire calls and 1 hazardous materials call.

Sunday, April 3
*8:03pm – BFD responded to a fire call in the 2200 block of Durham Avenue. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small pile of dead grass burning. While on scene, a fire was spotted at a home across the street. Firefighters investigated and found a small grass fire that burned the underpinning of the house. A thermal imaging camera was used to locate any hot spots. There was only minor damage to the home.
*11:01pm – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1600 block of Borden Street. Firefighters were dispatched to a gas leak and upon arrival the incident was determined to be a car that was on top of the gas meter. Firefighters turned the gas off and notified Atmos. The driver was checked for injuries and units then cleared the scene.
Monday, April 4
*2:25pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 1500 block of Dublin Drive. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a resident extinguishing fire between the porch and the residence. Firefighters extinguished fire and checked for hot spots.
*9:38pm – BFD was dispatched to a gas leak in the 2200 block of Durham. A gas meter had been hit by a vehicle in an alley way. Atmos was notified.
Tuesday, April 5
*3:05am – BFD was called to a fire in the 20000 block of CR 487 in May, TX. Firefighters arrived on scene with May VFD to find a wood frame storage building had burned. BFD Fire Marshall, Buddy Preston, was notified.
Wednesday, April 6
*1:15pm – BFD responded to the grass fire at Camp Bowie.
Thursday, April 7
*8:55pm – Dumpster Fire 4411 Delwood Drive. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a dumpster fully involved. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Friday, April 8
*9:49am – BFD responded to a 2 vehicle accident with injuries at Carnegie and Chandler. Firefighters provided first aid.
*2:10pm – BFD responded to a 2 vehicle accident with injuries in the 2400 block of US 377. Firefighters provided first aid.
*3:09pm – BFD responded to a 2 vehicle accident with no injuries at Coggin and Vine streets.
*6:51pm – BFD responded to a 1 vehicle accident in the 2400 block of N US 183 with injuries. Firefighters used rescue tools to extricate the patient from the vehicle. Patient was loaded into Guardian and transported to BRMC.
