Reports released for the week of February 26 – March 3, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 18 medical emergencies, 5 motor vehicle accidents, 7 fire calls, 2 hazardous material calls and 1 false alarm.
February 27
*12:55am – BFD responded to house fire in the 8000 Dorothy Lane. They arrived on scene with Bangs VFD to find a structure fully involved. Lake Bridge VFD also assisted in extinguishing structure fire.
*6:37am – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 2100 block of 14th St. involving a single vehicle. They provided first aid and check for injuries. Loaded patient into Guardian and transported to BRMC.
*7:44am – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1500 block of Ave E involving 2 vehicles. 1 patient was loaded with Guardian and transported to BRMC.
February 28
*11:10am – BFD responded to a fire call in the 1700 block of Vine St. with a reported fire in the back yard. They arrived to find a small pile of brush burning. Fire Marshal informed occupants of city burn codes
*3:14pm – BFD responded to US Hwy 279 where an 18 wheeler jackknifed. No injuries were reported.
February 29
*2:36pm – BFD was dispatched motor vehicle accident on the corner of 4th & Brooks involving 2 vehicles. They checked for injuries and provided first aid.
5:09pm – BFD responded to a HazMat call in the 1000 block of San Benito Dr. for a gas leak. Fire Crews established safe area, and leak was controlled.
*6:02pm – BFD responded to motor vehicle accident at Belle Plain / Mulberry with a single vehicle vs utility pole. They helped check for injuries and provided first aid.
March 2
*6:39pm – BFD responded to a fire call in the 11600 of County Road 265. They arrived on scene to find a vehicle stuck in the mud fully involved in flames. Fire crews extinguished fire.
*9:04pm – BFD responded to a hazardous material call in the 2000 block of County Road 180 for the smell of gas. Atmos was notified.
March 3
*1:11am – BFD responded to a fire call at 1st /Slayden in Brownwood. They arrived on scene to find home owner burning large logs, city burn codes were enforced.
*8:44am – BFD responded to a fire call on County Road 330 near Blanket. They arrived on scene to find a barn fully involved. Early & Blanket VFD’s were also on scene. Fire was extinguished.
*5:46pm – BFD responded to a fire call in the 600 of Oak Park Dr. Arrived on scene to find bushes beside the home smoldering. Owner had extinguished the fire with water hose.
