Reports released for the week of March 11-17, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 25 medical emergencies, 1 motor vehicle accident, 2 fire calls, and 3 hazardous material calls.
Sunday, March 11
*11:20am – BFD responded to the report of a chemical spill or leak in the 1900 block of Ave C. Fire crews investigated a smell under the house; however, nothing was found.
*4:38pm – BFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at Baker and Main Streets. Firefighters checked for injuries.
Tuesday, March 13
*5:25pm – BFD was called to a fire on FM 45. The incident was determined to be a controlled burn.
Thursday, March 15
*8:17am – BFD responded to a hazardous materials call in the 1400 block of Durham Avenue. Fire crews were dispatched to the smell of gas in the area; however, nothing was found after investigating.
Friday, March 16
*11:06am – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 4300 block of Brookdale Drive. Firefighters investigated smoke in the home.
*2:53pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 200 block of Main Street. The incident was determined to be steam or other mistaken for smoke. No fire was found.
