Reports released for the week of March 3 – 10, 2013 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 23 medical emergencies, 5 fire calls, 4 motor vehicle accidents and 1 lift assist call.
Sunday, March 3
*10:34 AM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of 9th Street and Coggin Avenue.
*9:16 PM – BFD was called to investigate the smell of smoke in the 800 block of Avenue G. Firefighters determined the smell to be from a fire in an approved outdoor chimney.
Tuesday, March 5
*12:55 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 3300 block of Avenue C. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a pick up on fire. Firefighters extinguished fire.
*4:10 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 3700 block of 1st Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a single story residence with nothing showing. Smoldering material was falling from the chimney. The attic space inspected with thermal camera.
Wednesday, March 6
*11:26 AM – BFD was called to the 2200 block of Belmeade to investigate a carbon dioxide detector activation. The CO2 monitor was used but nothing was detected by fire crews.
*8:02 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Austin Avenue. One patient was transported by Guardian EMS.
Thursday, March 7
*12:51 PM – BFD was dispatched to a two vehicle accident at Austin Avenue and Main Street. Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.
Saturday, March 9
*12:04 AM – BFD was called to a fire in the 4100 block of 9th Street regarding a general fire alarm. Firefighters arrived to find nothing showing.
*5:38 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries in the 200 block of Coleman Street. One patient was transported by Guardian EMS.
