Reports released for the week of January 29 – February 4, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 20 medical emergencies, 3 motor vehicle accident, 1 fire calls, and 1 hazardous materials call.
Tuesday, January 31
*7:02pm – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident on W US Highway 67. Firefighters assisted with helicopter landing zone, performed first aid and loaded patient into Air Evac.
Wednesday, February 1
*8:43am – BFD was received a hazardous materials call in the 4200 block of 9th Street. Firefighters investigated a gas leak. According to the report, nothing was found.
*12:13pm – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident at Austin Avenue and Main Street. Fire crews checked for injuries and provided first aid.
*6:54pm – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 3600 block of Austin Avenue. Firefighters provided first aid and assisted loading the patient.
Saturday, February 4
*8:40pm – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 2900 block of Hemphill Street. The incident was determined to be a fire in a barrel and the fire was extinguished.
