Reports released for the week of February 20th through February 26th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 28 medical emergencies, 1 motor vehicle accidents, 2 fire calls, and 1 public service call.

Wednesday, February 23
*5:31am – BFD was dispatched to a false alarm in the 1600 block of Calvert where an alarm malfunctioned.
Thursday, February 24
*9:48am – BFD responded to a two vehicle accident in the 2400 block of Crockett involving only minor injuries.
*2:04pm – BFD was called to a grass fire at Meadow Glen and Hwy 377. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small grass fire in a back yard which was due to high wind causing power lines to arc.
Saturday, February 26
*9:26pm – BFD was dispatched to a fire in the 1200 block of Crothers. Firefighters arrived on scene to find an occupant of the residence burning pallets. The Fire Marshal was called to the scene to enforce burn codes.
*10:53pm – BFD performed a public service of unlocking a vehicle.
Two BFD firefighters were dispatched along with the new TIFMAS engine to the Midland in response to the Governor Rick Perry’s deployment of the TIFMAS fleet. These crews and equipment were called due to the critical fire danger and weather conditions along with wildfires that were igniting in West Texas as predicted. Click here for more information.
