Reports released for the week of January 15-21, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 25 medical emergencies, 1 rescue, 0 motor vehicle accidents, 3 fire calls, 3 hazardous materials calls and 1 electrical call.
Sunday, January 15
*4:37pm – BFD responded to a hazardous material call in the 1600 block of 6th Street. Fire crews investigated the smell of gas; however, nothing was found.
Monday, January 16
*12:02am – BFD was called for a hazardous materials investigation in the 1300 block of 8th Street. Investigation showed that a carbon monoxide alarm activated.
*2:27pm – BFD responded to a fire call at 500 Main Street. The incident was determined to be an outside waste fire and the fire was extinguished.
Thursday, January 19
*4:39am – BFD was called for a hazardous materials investigation in the 3600 block of 2nd Street. A carbon monoxide alarm had activated.
*3:34pm –BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 2700 block of Main Blvd. The incident was determined to be an authorized controlled burn and the fire was out upon fire crews’ arrival.
*5:23pm – BFD responded to a wiring/electrical problem in the 1500 block of 2nd Street. Firefighters were dispatched to investigate a telephone pole which was sparking. Oncor was notified of the problem.
*6:50pm – BFD was called to remove a man stuck in a stalled elevator in the 1500 block of 2nd Street. Fire crews opened the elevator door and the victim was removed.
*9:02pm – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 3400 block of Vincent. Upon fire crews’ arrival, a fire pit/ring was found. The owners were advised of city burn codes.
Friday, January 20
*3:48pm – BFD responded to a combustible/flammable condition Burnett Road & Morris Sheppard. Fire fighters performed hazardous materials leak control and containment.
*8:55pm – BFD was called to a gas leak in the 400 block of Chandler Street.
