BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of December 19th through December 25th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 15 medical emergencies, 1 motor vehicle accidents, 5 fire calls, 2 gas leak/carbon monoxide calls and 1 call to assist police.

Sunday, December 19

*9:47am-BFD responded to a two vehicle accident in the 400 block of N. Main Street.  One patient was transported by Guardian.

*10:37am-BFD was dispatched to a hazardous material call in the 1500 block of Terrace Drive.  Fire units were called to investigate a carbon monoxide incident.  Monitor was used but nothing abnormal was detected.

Monday, December 20

*12:39pm-BFD was called to a grass fire in the 1900 block of Good Shepherd Drive.  Firefighters arrived to find a small strip of grass burning.  Fire crews extinguished the fire.

*5:29pm-BFD was dispatched to a grass fire in the 1900 block of Good Shepherd Dr.  Fire crews arrived to the same location of an earlier fire and discovered that the electrical wires above had connected and started the insulation on fire which caused the grass below to burn.  Oncor was contacted to resolve the problem.

*9:40pm- BFD was dispatched to the area of Avenue C and Vine Street regarding a fire call.  Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a small outdoor fireplace.

Tuesday, December 21

*3:51pm-BFD responded and assisted Police on Bangs Hill.  An 18-wheeler had dumped gravel on both lanes of traffic.  Firefighters assisted DPS blocking traffic on highway while TXDoT cleaned up.

Wednesday, December 22

*8:46pm-BFD was called to the 2000 block of CR 180 regarding a 2 acre grass fire.  Firefighters extinguished the fire.

*10:49pm-BFD was called to a gas leak in the 1600 block of Waco Avenue.  A gas meter had been struck and was leaking gas.  The valve was shut off by firefighters and Atmos was notified to repair the meter.

Thursday, December 23

*12:22am-BFD responded to a building fire at 1517 3rd St.  Firefighters arrived to find a single story residential structure with flames showing on three sides.  Early VFD arrived for manpower assistance. The fire was contained, extinguished, and some salvage was done.
