BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of December 18-25, 2011 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 19 medical emergencies, 1 motor vehicle accident, 8 fire calls, and 1 public service call.

Reports of interest include:

December 18

*12:41am – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 2200 block of Indian Creek.  Fire crews extricated a patient from the vehicle and assisted loading into ambulance.  The patient was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

*5:55pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 1600 block of Avenue B.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small fire in the back yard of a residence.  The home owner was advised this was a violation of city ordinance.

December 19

*11:56am- BFD was dispatched to a public service call where they performed a lift assist.

*7:22pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 4100 block of 9th Street.  Fire fighters arrived on scene to find a fire which was determined to be a burn pit in the backyard which was being used as a warming fire.

December 20

*4:00am – BFD responded to a fire call in the 2300 block of 11th Street.  Incident was determined to be an unintentional smoke detector activation.

December 21

*8:40am – BFD was dispatched to a fire in the 3700 block of US Hwy 183.  Firefighters responded to a report of the smell of smoke in a home.   Fire crews arrived on scene to find nothing showing. A thermal camera was used to check and nothing was found.

*7:07pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 3400 block of 2nd Street.  According to the report, a washer and dryer had been hit by a vehicle and pushed thru the wall.  The breaker was turned off to the units and there was no further fire danger to the home.

December 22

*5:09am – BFD responded to a fire call in the 4600 block of US 377 South. The fire was out upon fire crews’ arrival.  Salvage and overhaul was then performed.

*2:39pm – BFD was called to a dumpster fire in the 2200 block of Elizabeth Drive.  Fire crews arrived to find a small fire in a dumpster in the alley.  The fire was extinguished.
