Monday, December 16
*2:30 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 100 block of Marney Lane. BFD’s assistance was requested by Bangs Volunteer Fire Department on a brush fire with structures being threatened. The fire was extinguished.
*6:59 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1600 block of Melwood. Firefighters responded to the report of smoke in the area. Upon arrival, fire crews found light smoke and the smell of leaves/brush burning. The area was searched but firefighters were unable to locate the source of smoke.
Tuesday, December 17
*12:05 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 2200 block of Vine Street. The homeowner stated that while mowing, he struck a gas line to a barbeque grill. Fire crews shut off the valve to the line and advised the homeowner to contact a plumber.
*5:53 PM – BFD responded to a fire call in the 1600 block of Melwood. Firefighters responded to the smell of gas in the area. Fire crews investigated and found the smell to be the Atmos gas plant pop off valve, no hazard was present.
Wednesday, December 18
*11:37 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call on FM 2525. Firefighters responded to a report of a small fire on a pole. Units responded to the area but were not able to find anything.
*1:14 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 100 block of Slayden street regarding a small grass fire. Fire crews extinguished the fire.
Thursday, December 19
*1:59 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries.
