Reports released for the week of January 8-14, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 22 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 5 fire calls, 1 false alarm, 1 hazardous materials call and 1 electrical call.
Sunday, January 8
*7:00pm – BFD responded to a grass fire on Slayden Street. The brush/grass fire was extinguished.
Monday, January 9
*1:23am – BFD was called to an electrical problem in the area of 1st Street and Slayden. Firefighters arrived to find a transformer blown on a utility pole and Oncor was notified.
*6:31am – BFD responded to a fire call at a residence on Stonebrook. Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke in the house and a fire in the wall behind fire place. The fire was extinguished, then salvage and overhaul was performed.
Tuesday, January 10
*4:01pm – BFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in the area of Good Shepherd and Greenway. Fire crews checked for injuries and provided first aid.
Wednesday, January 11
*4:21pm – BFD responded to a fire call in the 1500 block of Magnolia. The incident was determined to be a good intent call. There was no danger at the time of the report.
Friday, January 13
*5:19am – BFD responded to a building fire.
*8:25pm – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 400 block of Chandler regarding the smell of gas. After an investigation, nothing was found.
Saturday, January 14
*5:54pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 300 block of Cordell. The incident was determined to be an outside rubbish fire.
*6:01pm – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident at Austin Avenue and Main Street. Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.
*6:13pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 1500 block of Dublin. Fire crews were dispatched to investigate smoke in the area and nothing was found.
