BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of January 16th through January 22nd from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 20 medical emergencies, 3 motor vehicle accidents, 3 fire calls, and 2 hazardous material calls.

Sunday, January 16

*10:35am- BFD was called to the 7500 block of US Hwy 67 where fire crews responded to a house fire in Bangs. The structure was fully engulfed. The Fire Marshal was contacted to investigate the cause of the fire.  Occupants of the residence were transported to BRMC for burns and smoke inhalation.

*7:46pm- BFD was dispatched to a single vehicle accident in the 500 block of Austin Avenue.  Only minor injuries were sustained.

Monday, January 17

*3:10pm-BFD responded to the 1000 block of S. Austin Avenue regarding a grass fire.  Crews arrived on scene to find the fire was already out.  Firefighters used water to ensure nothing was smoldering.

Wednesday, January 19

*1:11pm-BFD was called to the 1100 block of La Monte where they enforced City burn codes.

*9:24pm- BFD was dispatched to a two vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Coggin Avenue.

Thursday, January 20

*10:21pm- BFD responded to a fire call in the 5000 block of US 183.  Fire was found in the outside wall where a wood burning stove was located.  Material was removed and extinguished.  Thermal camera was used to detect extension.

Friday, January 21

*4:12pm- BFD was dispatched to a 2 vehicle accident with minor injuries at 15th Street and Coggin Avenue.  There were no transports to the hospital.

Saturday, January 22

*12:57am- BFD responded to a call regarding smoke in the 2300 block of 10th Street.  Crews investigated smoke in the area, however, nothing was found.

*9:03am- BFD received a hazardous material call in the 2700 block of 1st Street where crews investigated the smell of gas.  Upon arrival, a slight smell of gas was detected.  House was ventilated and gas detector was used.
