Beverly “Bebe” Elaine White Hohertz, 72 of Early, was called home on Thursday, November 14, 2019.

A celebration of life will be held at the Early High School Gymnasium on Sunday November 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM.

Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Heartland Funeral Home.

Beverly was born on October 30, 1947 in Lampasas, Texas to Mae and Maurice White.  Beverly and her parents lived in Lampasas before moving to Mullin.  She continued her education at Mullin ISD where she later graduated. Beverly went on to Cisco Jr. College and then to Tarleton State University to graduate and pursue her passion…being a teacher!  Beverly married her high school sweetheart, Carl Ray Hohertz, on June 14, 1969.  She began her teaching career at Tolar ISD before moving to Early and later retiring after 33 years.   Upon retirement, Beverly pursued a career in real estate where she was a vital part of the Berkshire Hathaway Moseley Real Estate Team.

Beverly’s brightest career highlight came in September when she was honored as one of the first recipients of the most distinguished group of longhorns known as “Longhorn Legends”.  Sticking to her English teaching roots, Beverly was always sure to live by her motto…“Carpe Diem”, meaning ”Seize the Day”.  She was certain to instill her motto in everyone that she came in contact with.  She was happiest when everyone was together especially her grandkids.

Left to cherish Beverly’s memory is her husband of 50 years, Carl Ray Hohertz of Early; son, Heath and wife, Susan Hohertz, of Mullin; son, Harlan and wife, Lori Hohertz, of Zephyr and seven grandkids.  Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Mae White.  The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Chatfield Assisted Living and to countless friends, students, care givers, and sitters for their sincere care and love.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Beverly Hohertz and may be sent to The Beverly Hohertz Education Scholarship Fund c/o Early ISD, PO Box 3315, Early, Texas 76803.
