Graveside services for Bettie Hayes Crafts, age 77, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 10:30 AM Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Mrs. Crafts passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Brownwood.
Bettie was born on April 2, 1940 in Coleman, Texas to Joseph Marvin and Rena Moore Hayes Sr. She retired as a school bus driver for the Charlotte County School Board in Port Charlotte, Florida after 15 years of service, was a member of the Calvary Baptist Mission, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Bettie loved horse riding, bowling, skating, traveling by car, boy and girl scouting and helping others.
Survivors include her daughter Lorenna Jackson and husband Mike of Brownwood, sons James Stanley and wife Kazumi of Japan, David Stanley and Robin of Baytown; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter Crafts, brothers John, Raymond, Marvin Jr. and Aubrey Hayes; sisters Joyce Matlock and Dorothy Beard and a nephew Dewey Wayne Beard.
Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
