Funeral services for Elizabeth Hitchcock Chambers, age 100, of Kerrville and formerly of Brownwood, will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 26, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Hitchcock of San Angelo officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am prior to the service.

Mrs. Chambers passed away on Friday, September 20, at the Hilltop Village in Kerrville.  She was born January 9, 1919 in West Fork, Arkansas the daughter of Harvey and Rosa Stevens.  She married Tom Hitchcock on August 12, 1935 in Brownwood.  Together they ran Judy’s Bakery on Center Street in Brownwood for a number of years.  They also ran the bakery for Sav-On-Foods grocery store and also did baking at the cafeteria at Howard Payne University.

Beth was a long-time member of the 4th and Stewart Church of Christ and was passionate about her world Bible classes and Monday night for the Master.  She also was a charter member of Tops Club         # 729.

Tom preceded her in death in 1973 and she later married Lowell Chambers in 1983,

She is survived by her son, Gene Hitchcock and wife Peggy of Brownwood, two daughters, George Ann Letterly of Wickliffe, Ohio and Judy Edson and husband Pat of Kerrville, a step-son, Bryan Chambers and wife Ira of Early and a step-daughter, Sue Rush and husband Les of Early.  She was blessed by God with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, a grand-daughter, Christine Ann Hitchcock Worden, her son-in-law, Edwin Letterly and a brother, Marion Stevens.
