Missionary Bertha Scott 85 of Coleman passed away Sunday March 11, 2018 at Oak Ridge Manor Nursing Home in Brownwood. A Celebration of life service will be held Friday March 16, 2018 at 1pm at the New Testament Holiness Church in Bangs with Burial to Follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8pm at the Brownwood Funeral Home Chapel.
Bertha was born July 10. 1932 in Itta Bena Mississippi to John and Mary McGee. Bertha received her education from Itta Bena public schools. Bertha moved to Chicago in 1952 and would live there until relocating to Coleman TX in 1974. Bertha was a Missionary and a long time member of the New Testament Holiness church. Bertha was truly a woman who loved her family but more so she loved God. She loved to go to church and loved to praise God.
Bertha was preceded in death by both parents, husband John Moss Sr. daughters Ella Moss, Flossie Moss, son Glen Moss, 4 sisters Willie Mae Walton, Roberta Hatcher, Pearlie Williams, Mattie Burks and brother Perry McGee.
Left to Cherish her memories are daughters Shirley Ann Mason and husband Terry of Coleman, Lanetter Hall and husband Audwin of Brownwood, sons, John Moss Jr. of Brownwood, Tyrone Moss and wife Gustolivar of Duncanville TX, and brother Esperdell McGee of Chicago, and a host of extended family and many friends.
