Funeral services for Bertha Marie Thomas of Brownwood will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 1:00pm at Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating, interment to follow in Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 7:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
She passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the age of 82 after a brief illness. Bertha was born on October 28, 1927 in Ballinger, Texas to Horace and Beulah Holland. She married Archie Thomas on August 3, 1946 in Ballinger. They moved to Brownwood in 1950. After moving to Brownwood, she worked for Sears and was a partner in the ownership of the Lyric Theater for several years. She worked for Krischke and Company for 24 years and retired in 1987.
She is survived by her husband Archie whom she was married to for 63 years, son Kenny Thomas and his wife Cindy, daughter Sandra Smith and her husband Jim, her grandchildren, Josh and his girlfriend April, Emily and her husband Cody, Jordan and his wife Stephanie and Brandon and his wife Ashley. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
