Mr. Bert Wayne Farris, 74 years old died Monday, August 29, 2011 at his residence in Coleman. Bert was born April 8, 1937 in Coleman to Bert Given Farris & Annie Will Smith Farris. He graduated from Coleman High School where he was a male Cheerleader for the Bluecats. Bert traveled the world, both in the U. S. Army, and as a Drilling Consultant in the Oil Industry. He raised his heels and had a fun life, and never met a stranger.
He is survived by 4 daughters; Vickie Suzanne Owens and Nita Jean Monroe both of Coleman, Amy Elaine Griggs of Sulpher Springs, and Terri Kelsey of Coleman, 1 son; Stanley Farris of Coleman, 1 sister; Patsy Burns of Coleman, several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 6:00 until 7:00 P. M. at Walker Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Friday, September 2, 2011 at 10:00 A. M. in the Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Patrick Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion.
