Funeral services for Bernice Green will be held on Thursday, June 25th at 2 PM at Heartland Funeral Home.
Bernice Green was born October 1, 1934 in Prairie Hill, Texas to George and Beatrice Green. She attended Prairie Hill High School. She surrendered her life to God at an early age and continued to live her life as a child of God until the Lord called her home on Saturday, June 20 2015. She was a faithful member of New Testament Holiness Church in Dime Box, Texas under the teachings fo Pastor Annie Scurlock.
To cherish her memory, she leaves sons, Hoover Hawthorne Jr., and Daniel Hawthorne of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Bernetta Hawthorne of Waco, Texas, Emma Hawthorne, Brenda Dickerson, and Karen Hawthorne of Brownwood, Texas; an adoptive daughter, Brenda Burks of Brownwood, Texas; a loving sister Mary Louise Hubby, and a devoted sister-in-law Margaret Green, both of Waco, Texas. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Henry J. Hawthorne, his father, Hoover Hawthorne, Sr., her parents, George and Beatrice, her brothers; Louis, Anzie and O.L. green, a sisters Magnolia Green and Pearlie Jones.
