Funeral Services for Benjamin (Coach) “Bennie” Andrade, age 68, of Brownwood, will be held Saturday August 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brown County with David Barnum officiating, interment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. He passed away Tuesday August 09, 2011 in Brownwood, Texas. “Bennie” was born on November 13, 1942 in Brownwood, Texas to John and Julia (Mendoza) Andrade.
“Bennie” was a graduate of Brownwood High School (1961) and was involved in Golden Gloves during that time. He also received his Bachelor’s Degree from Howard Payne University and began his teaching career in 1970, and it was his passion to teach, he was very dedicated in all his years of teaching Spanish to students and was always the first one there and the last one to leave. He enjoyed many types of sports, such as softball and baseball. “Bennie” loved to teach, and was also a coach for many years, he coached and taught in many towns such as Comanche, Bangs, Abbott, Moody, Brownwood, Corsicana, China Springs, Santa Anna, and Crystal City. He also worked at TYC in Brownwood, besides from teaching he loved playing pool, dancing and enjoyed going to Fiesta Week in San Antonio, TX.He is survived by 3 daughters; Deanna and husband Juan Gonzalez of Austin, TX; Julie Johnson of Dallas, TX; Tasha Andrade of Bedford, TX. 1 son; “Benny” Andrade Jr. and wife Heidi of Bangs, TX. 8 Grandchildren; Victoria Gonzalez, Trey Tijerina, Evan Johnson, Drew Andrade, Elise Andrade, Jaxon Andrade, Molly Andrade and Madylin Bauermeister. 1 sister; Jane Waibel of San Antonio, TX; 2 brothers; Joel Andrade and Linda Weathers of Brownwood, TX and Dr. Juan Andrade and wife Elena of Chicago, IL. Also, 1 sister-in-law; Flora Andrade of San Antonio, TX. 1 uncle; Frederico Yanez of Brownwood, and 1 aunt; San Juana Ybarra of Burley, ID; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. “Bennie” is preceded in death by his parents John and Julia Andrade; and a brother Daniel Andrade.
