BPDpatchSmallBrownwood Police officers are hosting a benefit brisket lunch for one of their own on at 11:00am Tuesday, September 11th at the Brown County Law Enforcement Center, 1050 W. Commerce in Brownwood.

According to Brownwood Police Department, Officer Dustin lost his wife in an unexpected death early Monday morning.  The Brownwood Police Department will be holding a fundraiser for Officer Bode and their two children Tuesday from 11:00AM until they run out of food at the Law Enforcement Center.

Brisket sandwiches and brisket plates will be sold. The fundraiser is to help with everyday needs along with funeral costs.

Brisket sandwich, chips and a drink will be sold for $5.00.

Brisket plates with potato salad, beans and a drink will be $8.00.

The Brownwood Municipal Police Association will be glad to make deliveries of the lunch items mentioned above.  Please call Chandra Means at 325-203-3875 to schedule a delivery.

Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley asks the public for their support.

“I fully support this fundraiser and ask for the community’s help in this time of need,” said Corley in a recent email.  “In addition, I ask that you keep the Bode family, and our police family, in your thoughts and prayers.”

Donations may also be given through a benefit account which has been established at American State Bank, located at 1221 Austin Avenue in Brownwood under the account name Bode’s Memorial Fund.
