Bees are once again back in the city of Brownwood according to Paul Coghlan, Brownwood Sanitation Inspector. The bees are building their hive in a place not only inconvenient but that poses a threat for anyone in the immediate area.
A hive was reported at 3:00pm Thursday on a group of mailboxes at the corner of 16th Street and Avenue E in Brownwood. The area has been roped off, said Coghlan. The Postal Service has been advised of the situation as well as the tenants.
The apartment complex’s maintenance facility has contacted an exterminator; however, the public is advised to avoid the area until the situation is remedied, Coghlan said.
The city of Brownwood dealt with another bee swarm in the downtown area back in July of this year.
