Bealls Department Store in Heartland Mall will close that location on Saturday to prepare for the Grand Opening of their new location in Brownwood at Commerce Square. The new store will offer around 22,000 sq. ft. of shopping according to Bealls management.
The Grand Opening is scheduled for Thursday, July 22nd which will start out with a ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce at 8:45am. The store will officially open at 9am for a Grand Opening that will run through Sunday. Final details of the Grand Opening are not finalized yet, but store manager Audrey Riley said there would be giveaways such as gift cards and gifts to the first customers at the store. Store hours at the new location during the Grand Opening Event will be from 9am-9pm Thursday through Saturday and from 12pm-6pm on Sunday.
“Everyone is invited to come out to take a look at the new store and be a part, especially of the Grand Opening,” stated Riley. “We have a lot of pretty things coming in and back-to-school items.”
The new location offers a completely new store, including fixtures, tables, and even a new “beauty bar” which will feature several lines of cosmetics that include mineral foundations and colors plus skin care products.
“Being at the new location, we feel, we will gain from the traffic of this area. It’s good for us and for the people of the area,” stated Riley. “The staff is excited, we like the look of the new store”.
The biggest difference Riley mentioned was that the shoe department will be within the main part of the store unlike the current location.
In 2007, Bealls did a complete remodel of their store in Heartland Mall, so they are recently familiar with reconfiguring the merchandise.
The Heartland Mall location will close for the last time at 6:00pm this Saturday and will reopen Thursday, July 22 at the new location in Commerce Square.
“We have enjoyed having Bealls as an anchor store here for 30 years,” stated Charlotte Parrack, Property Manager of Heartland Mall.
Heartland Mall leasing agents meanwhile are hard at work to find a new tenant to replace Bealls.
