jacketbasketball_logoABILENE, Texas – The Howard Payne men’s basketball team ended their four game winning streak with a 92-79 loss to Hardin-Simmons University Thursday night. 

Howard Payne never held the lead in the game and was down 47-34 at the break. The Hardin-Simmons lead remained about the same in the second with HSU posting the 92-79 win. Howard Payne shot 39 % from the field to 52% by Hardin-Simmons. 

John Bryant led Howard Payne with 20 points. Henry Valladares added 13 and Michael Thompson followed with a solid game off the bench with 11 points and 10 rebounds. 
Hardin-Simmons was led by Carlos Singer with a game high 40 points, he was 9 of 11 from the three point line. Ryan Carlson and John Derr added 13 and 12 points respectively. 

Howard Payne now stands at 6-16 overall and 6-12 in ASC play. Hardin-Simmons is 5-17 overall and 5-13 in ASC action. 

Howard Payne will be in Abilene again on Saturday against McMurry University at 3:00 pm.
