The Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions both came away with wins on Tuesday night against Sweetwater.
The Lions squeaked out a one point win in this district 2-3A match-up with a final score of 50-49. This win improves the Lions district record to 3-1 and 8-12 overall.
Scorers included Marquos Barnes – 16 points, Greg Jefferson – 14 points, Graylon Brown – 9 points, Derek Longoria – 6 points, Chris Cotton – 3 points, and Michael Ballejo – 2 points.
The Lady Lions showed the Lady Mustangs who was boss in a 56-38 victory Tuesday in Sweetwater. This bumps Brownwood’s record up to 18-8 overall and 5-1 in district play.
Scorers for the Lady Lions included Patricia Wilson – 19 points, Trinity Ansons – 13 points, Sara Byrd – 7 points, Mallorie Maxwell – 6 points, Kelsey Gober – 4 points, Hannah Mask – 3 points, Amanda Gober – 2 points, and Sydnie Darden – 2 points.
The Lady Lions face Snyder at home on Friday.
