The American Southwest Conference on Tuesday released the 2010 American Southwest Conference baseball awards and Howard Payne University had four players honored on this year’s list, following a division-only vote by head coaches.
All-West Division Second Team – UTL
Carlton Brown
Brown finished the season with a .302 batting average and drove in 12 runs on 19 hits. In his 23 games played he only committed one error in the field.
Honorable Mention All-West Division – 2B
Kyle Lloyd
Lloyd led the Jackets with a .381 batting average and with 35 runs batted in. He recorded 16 doubles and four homeruns, both HPU team highs.
Honorable Mention All-West Division – SS
Dustin Climer
Climer had a .348 average and drove in 19 runs on 40 hits. He led the Yellow Jackets in assists with 102.
Honorable Mention All-West Division – Relief Pitcher
Robert Anders
Anders finished the season with three wins and three losses on the mound. His 4.02 ERA was second best for the Jackets and he held opposing batters to a .290 average.
