Graveside funeral services for Bobby (Barbara) Compton Nix Silva of Brownwood will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. Mrs. Silva passed away Thursday in a local nursing home.
Bobby, better known as “Barbara” was born in Binger, Oklahoma to Clyde and Edna Compton. She graduated from East Texas Baptist College and extended her education at Texas Tech University, Colorado State College of Education, and the University of Texas at Arlington. She taught in Seminole and Brownwood Public Schools for many years.
Bobby was married to Frank A. Nix until his death. On September 22, 2008, she was united in marriage to George F. Silva.
Mrs. Silva is survived by her husband George, three grandchildren Jason, Brian and Danielle; five great grandchildren Kylie, Easton, Navi, Trinity, and Brian; and a host of nieces and nephews; two sisters, Jerry and Patty and two daughters Leslie Smith and husband Glenn, Lori Andrus and husband Jim.
Survivors of Mr. Silva’s loving family are son, George Silva and wife Sara, a daughter, Sonja Silva, and a son, Karl.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
