Barbara Bounds Gray, 73, of Brownwood, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early. Interment will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park. Ruben Packer and Terry Simmons will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Barbara was born Jan. 3, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas, and grew up in Brownwood. She was married to Glen Gray, the love of her life on Dec. 27, 1958, and was married for 53 years. During this time span, they raised three children, but she was known as a mother figure to all the neighborhood children, her children’s friends, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Barbara always put everyone else before herself. She was the most caring woman and her legacy will live on in everyone’s lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Walter Bounds; her brothers, Joe Bounds and Harvey Lee Palmer.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Gray of Brownwood; daughters, Glenda Daniell and husband Alan of Schertz, Texas, and Judy Gray of Brownwood; son, Donald Gray and wife Julie of Port Lavaca, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, Michael, Matthew, Jessica, Marcus, Jordan, Marissa, and Ali; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Alex, Natally, Kamaron, Braxton, Ethan, Cayden, Kason, Karson, Brooklyn and Jackson.
