Barbara Allie, 85, of Brownwood passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, in Brownwood. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 24, 2016, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Gary Hounshell will officiate the services.
Barbara Alyne West Allie was born April 13, 1930 to Alvia Robert and Janie (Phillips) West, in Stamford, Texas. Barbara went to Lynwood Heights in Watts, California. She met and married Osby Ray Conner in 1948. Barbara was a caring and honest person. She was very good with numbers and finance; and worked as a banker for Bank of America for 17 years in California. Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved animals and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. The following is a small story the family wanted to share: Barbara’s granddaughter, Sally Rose, was on her way to visit her grandmother. Sally was departing from Seattle; however, 3 minutes after her flight took off, Barbara was called to her spiritual home.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Alvia Robert and Janie Bernice West.
Barbara is survived by her children, Robert Ray Conner, William Andrew Conner, and Lori Conner Fleming and husband Russell; grandchildren, Sally Rose Brady and Ronnie Dean Fleming and wife Sarah; and a great-grandson, Tristan Brady.
