Bangs ISD school campuses were under “soft lockdown” part of Friday after an individual with an outstanding arrest warrant was seen on the high school campus, according to Bangs ISD Superintendent Bill Foster.
During the lockdown, students were still participating in normal school activities but under heavy supervision by campus personnel.
“I ordered a soft lockdown when I was informed by Brown County Sheriff office with assistance with the Bangs Police Department there was a person with a warrant seen on the high school campus,” Foster said on the district’s Facebook page. “I ordered the district-wide soft lockdown for safety of the students.”
Foster said that the soft lockdown allows for classes to be conducted as normal, with the exception of going outside. Under the soft lockdown, students that needed to go outside were heavily supervised by adults. Adults were also positioned at every entrance to the school.
The lockdown was lifted in the early afternoon Friday on advice from the Brown County Sheriff’s office.
