Mayfest organizers state that the city will be full of activities Saturday, including garage sales. A list of these sales will be available at City Hall, Rippetoe’s Pharmacy, Bangs Thrift Mart, Bangs Drug Mart and a few other locations.
One particular location of the garage sale will be the Bangs First United Methodist Church. Proceeds from this garage sale will supplement their many mission projects. A few of their local community outreach projects include decorating a “Green Santa” tree with clothing items for local elementary children; providing funds for certain medical needs of Bangs’ students, being the parent organization for the Bangs Food Pantry, and supporting the Aldersgate Enrichment Center.
Organizers of this sale state that their Activity Center will be full of garage sale items and various yard and garden plants. Hours of operation at the Bangs FUMC location will be 8:00am until 5:00pm on Friday and Saturday.
Brown Bag lunches will also be offered to shoppers for $5 on both Friday and Saturday. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 am.
Along with their regular items, this sale will also feature collectors’ objects from two estates. Available for purchase will be kitchen items, 40s and 50s pottery and glassware, cookie jars, canisters, and linens. A large collection of Avon Product bottles is also on sale.
