According to complaints filed with the Brown County Court at Law by Texas Ranger Jason Shea, 3M officials were notified by Brownwood Police that Bryan Makuta, a former 3M employee, was potentially violent. Corporate security personnel began monitoring Makuta’s public Facebook posts.

The videos posted on Makuta’s profile alarmed officials, and 3M hired off duty police officers to provide additional security for the Brownwood facility.

Dozens of videos show Makuta to be extremely intoxicated, often brandishing a 380 Ruger LCP with a laser sighting. In a video posted on April 7, 2018 Makuta is heard saying, “I’m going to play bullseye ball with your brain.” Another video posted the same day shows Makuta saying, “You don’t want that new hole. I got a whole clip.”

Makuta is seen in at least one video unloading and reloading the gun, displaying the clip filled with bullets.

A video posted on June 12, 2018 shows Makuta pointing the gun’s laser sight at the camera multiple times. He asks, “Where do you want your new —hole? Your forehead, or your chest?”

Chillingly, at the end of the video, Makuta is seen putting his fingers to his lips in a quieting gesture.

Ranger Shea’s report further details a 1 hour and 45 minute long video posted on June 14, 2018 which features Makuta saying, “I want to blow something up,” and showing the gun is loaded. In that same video Makuta is seen burning a 3M shirt, pointing a gun at it.

“I want to do something stupid that will make the papers.”

The most recent video was posted at 5 a.m. on the day of his arrest.
