Brownwood News – The Austin based Texas country band, Shane Smith & The Saints, was heading to their next gig in Lubbock Thursday morning when their tour bus caught fire and burned in northern Coleman County near the community of Silver Valley.

Coleman and Novice Fire Departments responded as did the Coleman County Sheriff.

The good news is the band got out and there were no injuries.  The bad news is the tour bus was a total loss.  Fire officials say they were able to salvage some of the bands equipment and gear from the trailer being pulled behind the bus but most of it, from merchandise to instruments, was lost.

The fire didn’t stop Shane Smith & The Saints from their next performance which went on as scheduled in Lubbock last night, turning into a fundraiser for the band at Cook’s Garage, the venue giving 100% of the door to the band last night.
