On April 13th, four Brownwood Accelerated High School students were awarded scholarships at the USHLI (United States Hispanic Leadership Institute) Career and College Fair.

Monica Barajas, Tiffany Moreno, and Mayra Ibarra each received $2500 scholarships to attend Ranger College and Tre Rudd was awarded a $500 scholarship from Howard Payne University.

The fair provided information to students about post-secondary education and training opportunities.  Recruiters were also available representing vocational and technical schools, junior colleges, and 4-year academic institutions in addition to local employers.

Students attending the event filled out a small card indicating what college they planned to attend, and at the end of the fair a random drawing of the cards determined the winners of the various scholarships.
