B. J. Fowler of Owens passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center. He was 85 years old.
He is survived by Noma Lee Sparks Fowler, his wife of nearly 65 years; his sister, Buena Kelcy; and his four children, Shirley Fragua, Donald Fowler, Ronald Fowler, and Noma Fowler-Sandlin; their spouses, children and grandchildren.
He was born in San Saba, Texas in 1925, to John and Ivy Bowman Fowler. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jack and Vic, and three sisters, Marylyn, Jessie Marie, and Reta. He retired from the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, and also retired from the US Postal Service. And was a farmer.
Graveside services will be held at Clear Creek Cemetery near Bangs, June 18, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-7:00 pm at the funeral home. The family request donations be made to the Corrine T. Smith Animal Center Brownwood, Texas or the spay and neuter program of your choice.
