The Early Chamber of Commerce held their 35th annual awards banquet on Tuesday night to recognize not only their accomplishments from the past year, but the people that helped make them possible.

Awards were presented for teachers of the year from each Early ISD campus, Citizen of the Year, Member of the Year, Ambassador of the Year and Business of the Year.

Rex Tackett, emcee of the event, also expressed gratitude and recognition for Early Chamber board members, ambassadors and staff.

Four teachers from Early ISD were presented with awards as teachers of the year for their campus.  These teachers were elected by their peers and include Early Primary – Lila Mobley, Early Elementary – Shannon Taylor, Early Middle School – Tami Hull, and Early High School – Jason Jones.

Citizen of the Year was presented to David Furry from last year’s recipient, Early Mayor Bob Mangrum.  Furry was recognized for his community involvement while owning multiple businesses in the area.

Member of the Year was actually given to two members for their outstanding support of the Chamber this year, Lisa Calihan and Connie Reeves.

Ambassador of the Year was presented to Jared Trowbridge.

Business of the Year was awarded to Heart of Texas EMS who was previously named business of the month in January.
