Early Chamber of Commerce held their annual awards banquet Monday night at the Aldersgate Enrichment Center.   Chamber officials recognized not only their accomplishments from the past year, but also the people that helped make them possible.

Awards were presented for teachers of the year from each Early ISD campus, Citizen of the Year, Board Member of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, and Business of the Year.

Chamber Board President Brent Moseley welcomed attendees to the event, which was emceed by Early City Manager Tony Aaron and KXYL radio host/Early Chamber Ambassador Leland Acker.

Four teachers from Early ISD were presented with awards as teachers of the year for their campus.  These teachers were elected by their peers and include Early Primary – Tonie Contreras, Early Elementary – Danielle Luedke, Early Middle School – Kelley Summers, and Early High School – Courtney Brandstetter.

Citizen of the Year was presented to James Cooley, Jr. from last year’s recipient, Jared Trowbridge.  Cooley was recognized for his community involvement and support.

Member of the Year was given to Lisa Callihan for her outstanding support of the Chamber this year.

Ambassador of the Year was presented to two recipients this year, Brittney Everett and Reca Godfrey.  Chamber Executive Director Shawn Russell stated that members voted multiple times; however, each time the ballots were counted, results indicated a tie.

Business of the Year was awarded to Weakley-Watson Sporting Goods.
