The Brown County Sheriff’s office is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a residence on US 67 about 1.5 miles west of Bangs. Authorities released her identity as Deatrice Toliver, age 50, after they were able to notify her family late Monday. She was reported to have been last seen alive 5-7 days ago.
According to Tony Aaron of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Toliver worked as a house cleaner for the man who found her outside of the home. She lived in a trailer near the back of the man’s property and came and went quite often. Her abscence had not been reported as it was not out of the ordinary.
Her badly decomposed body was found at the back of the residence and was taken to the Travis County Medical Office where an autopsy was performed Monday morning. The cause of death is still unknown, but authorities are awaiting toxicology tests. No foul play is expected at this time.
